ELVERADO SOFTBALL: Teague, Cochran Combine for No-Hitter
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Jenna Cochran and Kelsi Teague combined for 14 strikeouts and didn't allow a hit Monday afternoon, leading Elverado High School's Softball team to a season-opening 14-0 whitewash of Egyptian.
The Lady Falcons, 1-0, host Sparta at 4:30 Wednesday.
"It was very nice to start the season with a win," Elverado coach Donette Wheatley said. "We were very ready to play and anxious to get on the field. It's been three long weeks of practice."
Elverado scored six times in the first inning, deciding things early.
Kelsey Tuthill-who finished 4-for-4 with two RBI-knocked in the first run with a double.
Tuthill also tripled and added a pair of singles.
Chelsea Cochran had three hits with Courtney Morse and Katie Watts recording two safeties apiece.
J. Cochran whiffed nine batters in the first three frames while walking two. Teague finished up with five K's
