WINTER SPORTS BANQUET: DHS Honors Athletes

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ The Du Quoin Athletic Boosters Club hosted its annual Winter Sports Banquet and awards ceremony Thursday night with Dalton Morgan, Jessica Hirsch and Breeona Williams selected as Most Valuable Participants.

All totalled, nearly 70 student-athletes were guests of honor for the evening.

Here's the list of award winners:

BOYS BASKETBALL

Dalton Morgan- Most Valuable Player, All-SIRR, All-South and IBCA Class 2A All-State third team, Du Quoin Tip-Off Classic, Duster Thomas Hoops Classic and Sparta Mid-Winter Classic All-Tournament teams.

A.J. Hill- All-SIRR and IBCA Class 2A Honorable Mention All-State. All-Tournament team at Du Quoin Tip-Off Classic.

Matt Gossett- All-SIRR, All-Tournament and Most Valuable Player at Du Quoin Tip-Off Classic.

Logan Schneider- Most Improved Player.

Marcus Clarry- All Tournament, Du Quoin Tip-Off Classic

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Jessica Hirsch- Most Valuable Player, All-SIRR, Du Quoin Tip-Off Classic All-Tournament team

Micah Ward- Leading rebounder

Megi Jones- Most Improved Player

Michaela Brown- Best Defensive Player

Curry Emling-Indian Pride Award

Danielle Woll- Best free throw shooter
