Du QUOIN SOFTBALL: Wauconda rallies to disappoint Lady Tribe

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[An early five-run lead slipped from the grasp of Du Quoin High School's softball team Friday afternoon, as the Lady Indians fell 10-8 against Wauconda at Greg Hale Field in Pinckneyville.

Now 5-4, Du Quoin hosts defending Class 2A state champion Carterville (10 a.m) and Harrisburg (1 p.m.) Saturday at Lefty Pyle Field. Harrisburg and Carterville play the middle game of the round-robin affair.

Against upstate Wauconda (3-0), Heather Cavins of Du Quoin smacked a solo home run over the permanent fence at Hale Field. The shot traveled well over 250'.
