On Thursday, Schlueter donated his time to a trumpet master class to the trumpet students of the middle school band and high school bands. Mr. Schlueter told of his historic climb from his boyhood Du Quoin to the top of the music world with the Boston Symphony. Of the many applicable stories and advice, breathing was the main point. As he stated "The trumpet IS a wind instrument so without breathing we have nothing." It was a fantastic experience for the students, a chance of a lifetime.
