BOYS FROSH TRACK: Young Indians Runner-up's at Benton

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Dillon Beltz won two individual events Monday afternoon as Du Quoin High School's Boys Track and Field team placed second in the rescheduled Benton Freshman Invitational.

Scoring 57 points, the Indians trailed only first place Herrin (82). Harrisburg (52) and Benton (44) completed the field.

The young Indians were also second in nine other events and took home third place medals in seven more.

"Again our young athletes performed well in a very competitive meet," Indians coach Al Martin said. "We are pleased with how they are working and how well they've competed in meets."

Beltz won the 200 Meters and was also first in the Triple Jump.

Du Quoin's varsity team returns to Benton for the always-tough Chuck Oyler Invitational Wednesday.

The frosh and sophs host the "Little Classic" Friday at Van Metre Field.
