</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ A record-breaking indoor swim season continues for Jerry Kuhnert of Du Quoin.

Competing for the Saluki Swim Club, the Du Quoin Middle School student-and son of Monte and Kristi Kuhnert-won the 12-and-under 100 Meter Breaststroke (1:27.38) at the Gator Long Course Kickoff Invitational in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

He also finished second in the 200 meter Breaststroke with a time of 3:14.71.

Kuhnert didn't break the record, but his times were the second fastest ever for a Saluki Club swimmer in the 12 and under age group in the breaststroke 100m and 200, but now has the second fastest time in both events. He did all this despite three fractured fingers on his left hand.

Also competing in the meet from Du Quoin were Jerry's sister, Haley Kuhnert, and Hanna Smith.
