JUNIOR HIGH TRACK: Du Quoin's Deeja Cole Wins High Jump Title

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Du Quoin (Middle School) returned home from Saturday's Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association (SIJHSAA) Class L State Track and Field Championships with solid efforts from both its boys and girls squads.

Scoring 34 points, the boys placed sixth. The Lady Warriors had 15 points to share 14th place with Sparta. Collinsville (55.5), O'Fallon (47), Marion (44), Belleville's Belle Valley (38) and Olney (35.5) completed the top five.

Pinckneyville (Junior High School) was 24th among the girls (5.5) points and didn't score in the girls portion.

For DMS, Deeja Cole was state champ in the High Jump (5'10) with Spencer Cook (Pole Vault, 9'6) and Camden Youngman (7th Grade 100 Meters, 12.88) earned second place medals.

The 4x200 Varsity Relay (Austin Mansker, Jonah Spencer, Spencer Cook, Camden Youngman; 1:43.42) placed fourth with Haeden Sweetin (9'0) sixth in the Pole Vault.

On the girls side, the DMS points came from Kiyanna Dejear (fifth place, 100, 14.0; sixth place, 200), Alexis Mitchell (100 Hurdles, seventh place, 17.91), Jordan George (Shot Put, fifth place, 28'10 an Discus, seventh place, 73'2),

Pinckneyville's Jesslyn Thompson (4'6) was third in the High Jump.
