Du Quoin Ice Co. Remodeling

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Demolition of the front of the Du Quoin Ice Co. began this morning as owner Marion Setzekorn begins renovations to the historic Du Quoin business. The ice plant was opened under the Riggio family and for many years was operated by the Don Barrett family, a retired U.S. Postal Service employee. Setzekorn said it was necessary for Loos Excavating Co. of Pinckneyville to tear out the north front corner of the building to facilitate the installation of a new cooler. Construction is expected to take between 10 days and two weeks to complete. The business is located on North Hickory Street in Du Quoin. Du Quoin Ice Co. serves much of Southern Illinois with a high quality product and service.
