Tamaroa Welcomes Board Member Nelson Knapp

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Last night at Wednesday's Tamaroa Board meeting the board filled the last seat by appointing Nelson Knapp.

Knapp is a father of two who was born and raised in Tamaroa. He has twenty or more years experience of management in construction, food production and advertising. He has an associate degree in Applied Science in Architectual Technology.

"I'm there to help the town," Knapp said, "I'm very thankful to be a part of this to be able to help the community."

Knapp's sister, Betty Roberts, also sits on the board.

Knapp was appointed to the Health Committee, Water and Sewer Committee and the Streets and Alleys Committee.

Other items addressed at the meeting...

Discussed the time and location of the Tractor Pull. The Tractor Pull will be taking place Saturday, June 13, at 10 a.m. at the Community Center. Insurance issues were also brought up with those in charge.

Adopted the Red Flag Rule which works to eliminate identity theft from city records.

Accepted a non-home rule retailer's occupation tax and service occupation tax to be passed on to the state for approval. The tax of half a cent should not be accepted by the state until the end of July.

Discussed the installment of culverts with Belle Kurtz and how payment for them would be distributed. No action was taken.
