Swimming Indians Keep Shattering Records

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Just two meets into its 2009 Southern Illinois Swim League (SISL) schedule and records are breaking quickly for the Du Quoin Swimming Indians.

The Tribe, off to its best start in recent memory at 2-0- and coming off an impressive weekend effort at the Herrin Tiger Sharks All-Stroke event-begin home action Tuesday with a 6:30 p.m. meet against the Salem Swordfish.

At the Herrin Invite, Du Quoin's Jerry Kuhnert swam to the first place medal in the boys 13-14 50-yard breaststroke. His time was 34.22

Here are the records that have been broken thus far:

7-8 Girls 50m freestyle -Olivia Cravens , 41.98. (old record Olivia Cravens , 45.93 in 2008.)

11-12 Boys 50m Butterfly -Trevor Jones, 38.18. (old record Cory Kelly, 40.50 in 1995)

11-12 Boys 100m Freestyle- Trevor Jones, 1:13.74. (old record Colin Dorsey, 1:17.36 in 2008)

13-14 Boys 50m Breaststroke -John Galik, 6.40. (old record Nick Hirsch 36.62 in 2005)

Boys 11-12 200m Medley Relay- New record 2:37.65; Matthew Galik, William Galik, Cody Bailey, Trevor Jones. (old Record was 2:37.88 in 1989)
