Tamaroa Board Fields Property Complaint
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Wednesday's Tamaroa meeting of trustees included a discussion, brought to the board from a Tamaroa resident, regarding the failure to maintain a pond and the surrounding land at the Mike Frost property a block off Rt. 51 on 2nd North Street.
The board was asked to take action against the property owner for their violation of the nuisance ordinance. Complaints included an increase in mosquitoes, a sewage smell and excessive weeds.
Complaints from the residence have risen through the years but the town has not taken any action against it.
The board also approved a Rend Lake Intercity Water contract, which dictates plans for line construction and repair. More on the water supply project will be discussed at the next meeting. Tamaroa currently receives water from Du Quoin.

Tabled discussions with Southern Engineering about issues with the water department.
Tabled discussions concerning the street department due to lack of representation.
Discussed repairs to the Community Center roof, walls and plumbing. Trustee Kirk Pestka was put in charge to negotiate the minor repairs. No dollar amount was set.
Tabled discussions for the road maintenance plan due to lack of representation.
Tabled discussions for the price on a new culvert due to lack of representation.
Tabled skid steer bids due to pending litigation.
The need for sidewalk repairs on Rt. 51 due to old age was brought to the board. The issue has been brought up with the board before and will be looked into again.
