VFW Turns Musial Autograph Into $231 for Food Pantry
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ It all adds up, and Du Quoin Food Pantry director Mike Swayne was extremely grateful for the gift of $231 from members of the Du Quoin VFW Men's Auxiliary last week.
So is Du Quoin resident Jon Sanders, winner of the autographed Stan Musial photograph that members of the VFW auctioned to raise the $231.
Auxiliary member Pete Riggio donated the piece of St. Louis Cardinals sports history to the fundraiser. Tickets sold for $1 each of $5 for seven. All of the proceeds went to the food pantry.
Presentation of the $231 was made during the July 4 weekend. Auxiliary members Pete Riggio, Don Brayfield and Mike Swayne presented the autographed photo to Sanders at the food pantry Thursday night.
The Du Quoin Food Pantry serves hundreds of individuals and families each month. The public's support of this outreach program is very much appreciated.
