Paper recycling bins provided by Panther Hauling
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Another opportunity to recycle is again available to all Chester residents. Paper recycling bins were recently placed at each of the four Chester schools. These bright blue bins are provided by Panther City Hauling as part of their recent residential trash service contract with the City of Chester. The blue bins will be used by each of the schools to continue the recycling of school paper waste from classrooms and offices. The bins are also available for any local businesses or individuals for recycling of any paper or cardboard.
All types of paper products can be deposited in the Panther City Hauling bins including phone books, magazines, catalogs, newsprint, cardboard, slick paper, shredded paper, food boxes and general household paper waste. When full, the paper recycling bins will be taken by Panther staff to the Menard Farm Industries for sorting and processing. The four bright blue recycling bins are located at:
St. Mary's School - parking lot behind the school gym
St. John's School - alley between the school and Buena Vista Bank
Chester High School - behind Juergens' Gym
Chester Grade School - behind the school near the cafeteria
These paper recycling bins replace the ones previously provided by GreenFiber.
No monetary profits will be provided to the schools with the new bins, but they should fill a need for the community as residents have increased recycling efforts.
Residents are reminded the Chester area Boy Scouts continue to have the newspaper recycling bin at the Scout House on W. Holmes Street. This is a fundraising project for the Scouts and newspaper donations are appreciated. Also, the recycling trailers made by Menard Farm Industries are located on the parking lots of Chester Center and Walmart. Each recycling trailer has bins for glass, plastic, tin and paper products. These trailers are now taken 5 days a week to be processed by Menard Farm Industries due to the increase in voluntary recycling in Chester.
The City of Chester appreciates the cooperation from Panther City Hauling and Menard Farm Industries to provide recycling receptacles and service for the community. The recycling efforts of the community are appreciated. All residents are encouraged to make use of the available recycling receptacles and to continue to support the local Boy Scouts with newspaper recycling.
