Red Bud Regional continues as #1 in customer service
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Due to the commitment that the Red Bud Regional Hospital team has made to improve patient care at the facility, the Hospital Emergency Department continues to rank #1 in customer service in 2009. Survey results were drawn from more than 120 hospitals in the Community Health Systems network.
"It is a pleasure to work with a quality team of physicians, nurses and staff who help Red Bud Regional Hospital achieve these high satisfaction scores," states Shane Watson, CEO. "It is an honor to be the number one hospital for patient satisfaction out of the 122 hospitals in our network throughout the United States. This achievement demonstrates the service and care that we provide to the patients that we serve in both Randolph and Monroe Counties."
When reviewing the survey results, the Red Bud Regional (RBR) team only looks at very satisfied scores. These scores are a key indicator of what is working well in the organization and also highlights areas that need improvement. The team looks at the scores in two ways, compared to previous quarter results and compared to the national results.
Although Red Bud was #1 in customer service for the 4th quarter in 2008, the team took the survey results into consideration and was able to increase scores that much more. For example, very satisfied scores for "would you recommend this hospital to others if they needed emergency care" increased 9% and the scores for "concern and caring by doctors" increased 10%.
Red Bud Regional is also proud to announce that they exceed national comparisons in all categories for very satisfied results. For "overall satisfaction", the Hospital scores are 20% higher than the national norm. "Registration" scores are 23% higher. And "nursing and nursing care" scores are 24% higher than the national norm.
The information that makes up these survey results comes from Healthstream Research who conducts personal, one-on-one phone interviews with patients who have used Red Bud Regional Hospital's emergency department in that quarter. The interview questions thoroughly analyze all aspects of the visit.
