</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The 71st annual membership meeting of Egyptian Electric Cooperative will be held at the American Legion meeting hall in Steeleville on Tuesday evening, July 28, 2009. Member registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the business session will begin at 7:30 p.m. The meeting hall is air-conditioned and a short business session is being planned to conduct the necessary business affairs of the cooperative. The membership will elect three directors for three-year terms. A nominating committee of members met on May 18, 2009, and nominated Randall Campbell, Chester, Paul Hicks, Carbondale, and Paul Pyatt, Pinckneyville, as candidates for director. The membership may make additional nominations from the floor, if they so choose.
Every member registering will receive a free gift plus a $10 credit on their next electric bill. After the business session, registered members will be eligible to win an LCD HDTV or two grand prizes of $100 credits on an electric bill.
Hot dogs, soda and ice cream bars will be served in the park beginning at 5 p.m. Outdoor seating will be limited, so bring your lawn chairs. The Dave Caputo Band will be the entertainment for the evening. They will take the stage about 5:45 p.m. in the American Legion's large hall and will continue until shortly before the meeting. A children's program will be next door while the business meeting is going on. Check your Illinois Country Living magazine for more details.
The Board of Directors and management of Egyptian Electric Cooperative wish to extend an invitation to all members to attend this picnic and annual meeting and take part in the affairs of their cooperative. OH! - one more thing - remind your neighbors. See you on July 28th.
