Clayborne named SWIC Assistant Vice President

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Staci G. Clayborne of Belleville has been named assistant vice president for student development at Southwestern Illinois College. Her appointment began Aug. 1.

As assistant vice president, Clayborne will formulate, recommend and administer district programs in areas of Student Development to include: Financial Aid, Student Employment and Veterans Services, Counseling, Career Activities and Employment, Special Services and College Activities.

Clayborne comes to SWIC from East St. Louis District 189 where she most recently served as principal at Miles Davis Elementary School. She also served as a principal in Cahokia Unit School District 187 from 2005-2008. Clayborne served as program operations coordinator for the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Head Start Program from 1999-2005 and as assistant instructional services coordinator from 1997-1999. She began her career in education as a grade school teacher.

Clayborne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo., and a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Professionally, she is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Carrousels Inc., and the National Alliance of Black School Educators.
