Still time to file for financial aid; get help at SWIC campus
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[If you think it's too late to apply for college this fall because you haven't applied for financial aid, there is still time.
"It's not too late," says Southwestern Illinois College Personal Advocate Linking Services Representative Kelly Bione. "I can help you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online."
Federal and state financial aid awards are based upon information provided in this form, she notes. FAFSA for the 2009-2010 academic year can be submitted up until June 30, 2010. Early application is recommended.
"Filing the form online provides a faster response time, allowing you to learn about available financial aid sooner," Bione notes. "Whether you are a high school student or an adult, we invite you to take advantage of this service."
To make an appointment with Bione, call her at 618-282-6682, ext. 8126, or e-mail kelly.bione@swic.edu. Individuals should bring their 2008 U.S. tax return and their parents' or spouse's 2008 U.S. tax forms to that appointment.
Fall classes at SWIC begin Saturday, Aug. 22. Individuals may register in person from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, and 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Fridays, this summer. Special Saturday Registrations will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Aug. 15 and Aug. 22.
For more information, contact the campus at 618-282-6682, ext. 8114.
