Emery Seeks County Board Seat
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Rex Emery of Du Quoin announced his intentions today to seek the Democratic nomination for Perry County Commissioner in the upcoming April 2010 primary election.
Emery, 57, has over 28 years of experience in the insurance and investment industry. After retiring in 2006 from the Prudential Insurance Company of America, he has continued his work in the industry as an independent consultant with an office in the Easterly Insurance Agency complex.
Emery is married to the former Christy Jones of Tamaroa. They have three children--Lee, 29; Aaron, 26; and Megan, 20, and one grandchild, Rex Andrew.
Emery States, "It is my hope with the support of family and friends that the citizens of Perry County will allow me the opportunity and privilege of serving them as their county commissioner."
Emery is chairman of the board at the First Christian Church in Du Quoin, on the board of the Christopher Rural Health Corporation, a trustee of Elks Lodge 884 as well as three-time past master of Tamaroa Masonic Lodge 207. He is a member of American Legion Post 647 and a Jackson-Perry County regional board trustee."
