Run for the Fallen Held Aug. 23

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Family and friends of PFC Wyatt D. Eisenhauer hosted a local 'Run for the Fallen' Sunday in the Pinckneyville City Park. Participants were asked to walk, run or bike and dedicate the miles they travel to soldiers killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. The opening ceremonies featured the Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem, recognition of veterans and those currently serving. The names of all 203 Illinois soldiers killed in OIF and OEF were read. The ceremony closed with the American Legion giving a 21 gun salute and Stephen Cannedy playing "Taps." Kathy Kopshever Photos.
