You Could Own the St. Nicholas Hotel

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[You Could Own the St. Nicholas Hotel for $638--Sealed bids will be taken up until October 2, 2009 for approximately 20 surplus properties which were not sold at the recent Perry County tax sale. One of the properties is the St. Nicholas Hotel building on South Oak Street in Du Quoin. The minimum bid for the hotel and all properties listed in the auction catalogue available in the treasurer's office for $5 is $638. Perry County does not own these properties, but the county board acts as trustees for each of the taxing districts that will share in the proceeds. The intention of the program is to return the properties to productive use. There will be no verbal bidding on the 17 parcels or the 63 rights to coal, gas and other minerals on others.
