Singers/Musicians announced for annual Sacred Concert

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ The annual Sacred Concert, held each year in conjunction with Popeye's Picnic, will be Sunday, September 13, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester. The program will begin at approximately 1:40 p.m. with an organ prelude presented by Vicky Beers. The choral portion of the concert will begin at 2 p.m., and will last approximately one hour. Father Gene Wojcik of St. Mary's will offer the invocation and benediction.

Vocalists for this year's concert will be Steve Colonel, Sara Belcher Hammel, Zeb Holder, Christine McClure, and Jamie Springer. Vicky Beers and Jane Stallman will be providing piano accompaniment.

"This concert is, for many people, a highlight of Popeye's Picnic, as it offers an hour of reflective, sacred music in the beautiful setting of St. Mary's Catholic Church," said Gwendy Garner, concert coordinator. Garner urges picnic goers to make plans to attend the concert which will feature local vocalists and musicians, some who are veterans of the concert and some who are new to the venue. People are welcome to attend in appropriate picnic attire.
