25-Cent Discount on Gas Saturday
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Spirit of Life Christian Church in Du Quoin will be doing acts of kindness to fulfill a theme "Give Back to the Community" as a fall outreach. The first event will take place Saturday, September 12 at the Du Quoin Indian Car Wash and the Casey's Country Store next door on South Washington Street in Du Quoin.
The church will offer free car washes from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and a 25-cent rebate on the first 2,000 gallons sold between 8 a.m. and 12 noon. Motorists will get their windows cleaned and gas pumped by church volunteers. "These acts of kindness are a practical way of saying we love and appreciate of the people of Du Quoin and want to help brighten their day," according to the church's pastor Rev. Gerald Wright.
"Why do this?" Simple Answer: "We want to show God's love in a practical way. We want to share the message that God is all about loving and caring for people. Also, we are asking you to bring a can good as a donation to the Du Quoin Food Pantry."
The 25 cent rebate will cover up to 16 gallons per customer from 8 a.m. until 12 noon or until the first 2,000 gallons are sold. The free car washes at Du Quoin Indian Wash are from 8 a.m. until 12 noon. There will be free coffee and doughnuts.
