The sisters have been to all 87 Du Quoin State Fairs, carried to the first fair as infants by their mother in 1923. It's a remarkable achievement. Mrs. Walker was a box holder for decades, but now only attends the Derby. The day's racing program was postponed by rain, but the sisters enjoyed the first five races. Mrs. Janello returned to Carbondale as darkness fell over the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds. --John H. Croessman Photo
