Chester Chamber of Commerce plans events
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Chester Chamber of Commerce has some exciting events planned for the next few weeks.
Tom Smith, Public Health Administrator of the Randolph County Health Department, will be the guest speaker at a Chamber lunch meeting on Tuesday, September 15. He will be talking about the H1N1 Influenza and what can be done to protect ourselves and others. The informal presentation will be from noon until 1:00 p.m. in the Chester Eagles Club side room. Lunch may be ordered from the menu. Chamber members, guests, and anyone interested are invited to attend this informational meeting.
On Friday, September 18, the Chamber's Annual BBQ will be held at the Chester Knights of Columbus Hall. The menu will consist of brats, chicken breasts, slaw, potato salad, and baked beans. A brat sandwich will be $3.00 and a chicken breast sandwich will be $4.00. Plates with two sides will sell for $5.00. Carry out orders are also available. Orders may be placed in advance by calling the KC Hall at 826-3316 the morning of the BBQ.
The Chester Chamber of Commerce and the Chester Tourism Commission invites everyone to come to the Chester Square Mini Park on Thursday, September 24, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and listen to some great music by the Yallaley Brothers Country Classic while enjoying hot dogs, chips, and soft drinks. Tom Welge, organizer of the Mississippi River Apraxia Challenge MAC Ride '09 benefit, and his crew of cyclists will be riding from Dupo, IL to Chester on the 24th. Plan to stop by for a fun evening which is also a very worthy cause to help support CASANA, an organization that strives to aid awareness and create support for children affected by speech apraxia. The proceeds from the food and drinks will be donated to the Mississippi River Apraxia Challenge MAC Ride '09. The Yallaley Brothers will be providing the entertainment at no charge.
