Anna-Jonesboro pounds Panthers 49-7
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ The frustration continued to mount for Pinckneyville on Friday night, as Anna-Jonesboro came to Quillman Field and stormed their way to a 49-7 victory over the host Panthers.
A-J took over during the second period, putting it into the end zone three times in the period to lead 28-0 at halftime.
A pair of 15-yard penalties against the Panthers on the same play buried their hopes in the third period, as the flags set up an 11-yard touchdown pass from J.R. Woodward to Gabe Pecord that made it 35-0.
Bryant Shute would find finally get the Panthers on the board with a 5-yard touchdown run with 8:19 remaining in the game.
Pinckneyville (0-4, 0-1) looks for their first win next week at Nashville. The Hornets lost to Chester 6-3 on Friday night.
