</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ It took yet another second-half comeback, but this time the Pinckneyville Panthers got the job done, holding off Nashville 26-18 for their first victory of the 2009 season on Friday night.

Nashville jumped out 12-0 thanks to a successful drive on offense and a fumble recovery on defense that was taken the distance for six points.

Quarterback Bryant Shute, who was well over 100 yards rushing for the game, got the Panthers right back in it with a 45-yard touchdown pass to Nathan Morton, and Shute tied the score with a 4-yard run towards the end of the second period.

Shute's pass to Jake Bathon for a 44-yard touchdown gave Pinckneyille their first lead of not only the game, but their entire season with 1:35 left in the third quarter.

Bathon hauled in another Shute pass with 1:13 remaining in the ball game to ice the victory.

Pinkcneyville is now 1-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
