SIJHSAA State Finals: Rain, rain, go away

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Morning rains-and the likelihood of more precipitation as the day wears on-has delayed the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association (SIJHSAA) Class L State Baseball and softball semifinals.

The events are being held at the Perry County Fairgrounds in Pinckneyville.

Tuesday's games, are now pushed back to 1 and 3 p.m. Wednesday.

In baseball. Defending champion Du Quoin (Middle School) (21-3) battles Harrisburg (20-4) will play the first game with Carmi (15-2) meeting 22-4 Waterloo in game two.

The third place and championship encounters are still scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
