SIRR Volleyball: Lady Indians Win, PCHS Falls at Nashville

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Du Quoin High School Girls Volleyball team climbed back to the .500 mark in River-to-River Conference play Tuesday, edging past Chester in a hard-fought three-game match at Colbert Gymnasium.

Scores were 23-25, 25-14, 25-13.

The Lady Indians are 3-3 in Mississippi Division play of the SIRR and entertain Pinckneyville Thursday. Overall, Du Quoin hiked its record to 9-13.

Megi Jones led a solid DHS team effort with 13 points and 16 assists.

Keawna Anders added a dozen serving points with freshman middle hitter Rebekah Maddox (nine kills, five blocks) dominant at the net.

Kelsey Toler contributed seven more kills. Cassidy Rice, the second Lady Indian freshman starter, had 12 digs.

In the junior varsity match, Du Quoin was denied its second win victory of the season in a 16-25, 25-20, 23-25 loss.

Curry Emling had 11 points with three serving aces while going 18-for-18 at the line.

Shelby Presley and Shareigha Keller each had seven points.

Du Quoin won the freshman match, 21-9 and 21-15, improving to 11-6 overall.

Shantanna Fann's 19 points and six aces topped the young Lady Tribe. Fann was also 21-for-22 serving.

Kelsey Toler: 7 kills, 3 digs, 9-9 serves. 3 points.
