BDC Volleyball Rivals Night: Lady Falcons Handle Christopher

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[After a week away from match play-and spending a long few days on the practice floor-Elverado High School's Girls Volleyball team was more than ready to play Thursday's Black Diamond Conference match against rival Christopher.

The Lady Falcons, 5-10, erased the bad memories of a disappointing loss at Carrier Mills last Thursday with a convincing BDC win.

Scores were 25-19, 23-25, 25-15 as Elverado hiked its league record to 2-4.

"It was a long week off for us all," Lady Falcons coach Donette Wheatley admitted. "We were just ready to get off the practice floor and play."

Elverado had three servers-Kelsey Tuthill, Allie Griest and Arika Mace-combine for 34 points. Hillary Dinkins (eight points) wasn't far behind.

"We played a lot of offense and worked very well together as a team," Wheatley said. "We really did a great job of moving our feet. The best we've done all season."

In Thursday's preliminary in Piper/Valerius Gym, the Lady Falcons junior varsity lost 9-25, 7-25. EHS is 5-10 and 0-5.
