Monday's Soph Football: Anna-Jonesboro Wins SIRR

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Du Quoin High School's Junior Varsity Football team was blanked 34-0 Monday night at Anna-Jonesboro, ending its River-to-River Conference schedule with a 4-1 Mississippi Division record.

A-J, 5-0, won the SIRR crown.

Next Monday, the young Indians visit Murphysboro to close the season.

Du Quoin is 4-4 overall and had just two plays from scrimmage- a run by Sam Gossett and pass from Gossett to Jonathon Boss-of over 30 yards.

Defensively, Dillon Beltz recovered two of A-J's fumbles. Blayne Harris recovered the third.

The frosh game between Du Quoin and A-J, which would have also determined the top spot in the final Mississippi standings, was canceled and will not be played.

Du Quoin's freshmen finish the season this Thursday at Murphysboro.
