Monday's Volleyball: Lady Falcons bounce back in BDC

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Elverado Community High School's Volleyball team gained its third Black Diamond Conference victory of the season Monday night, winning a tough three-game match at Zeigler-Royalton.

Final scores were 25-18, 18-25 and 25-16. Overall, the Lady Falcons are 6-12 and play Thursday at Trico to conclude the regular season.

"I am proud of the way we battled back after losing that second game," Elverado coach Donette Wheatley said. "We cleaned it up though and started playing more offense and put the match away."

Arika Mace led the Lady Falcons with 11 points. Kelsey Tuthill had seven assists with Allie Griest and Tiffany Yearian each recording 10 digs.

Hillary Dinkins added nine digs.

At the net, Adrienne Hardwig led the way for EHS with six kils and was 16-for-18 hitting.

Kelsey Tuthill: 12-13 serves, 7 points, 1 ace, 7 assists, 6-7 hitting, 3 kills.

Allie Griest: 15-15 serves, 9 points, 1 ace, 2-3 hitting, 1 kill, 10 digs.

Tiffany Yearian: 12-14 serves, 8 points, 3 blocks, 16-17 hitting, 4 kills, 10 digs.

Arika Mace: 15-15 serves, 11 points, 3 aces, 5 assists, 8-9 hitting, 3 kills.

Hillary Dinkins: 4-6 serves, 3 points, 4-6 hitting, 9 digs.

Adrienne Hardwig: 3-4 serving, 1 point, 1 ace, 1 assist, 16-18 hitting, 6 kills, 2 digs.

Chelsea Cochran: 4 digs.

Junior Varsity: Z-R 25-25, Elverado (6-12, 1-7) 18-14.

At the Trico Class A Regional, Elverado will against meet Z-R at 6 p.m. next Wednesday. A win would advance the Lady Falcons into a match with top-seeded Steeleville.

Christopher and Evansville (COSL) are also entered.
