The Road to Champaign: Chopper to Dry Van Metre Field Saturday

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Villa Grove-based Illinois Wing & Rotor, Inc. will use a jet-propelled helicopter to dry at least two Southern Illinois football fields Saturday.

Neal Toler-a Du Quoin native who owns IW&R and now lives in Villa Grove-plans to arrive with his jet Bell Helicopter about 7 a.m. in Sesser. The Sesser-Valier/Waltonville-Woodlawn Red Devils host Nashville in Class 3A at 1 0'clock.

After about 90 minutes there, Toler will fly east to Du Quoin and hover over Van Metre Field starting around 8:35 or so. He expects to finish by 10 a.m.

Toler's enroute from Illinois to Bell Helicopter Textron at Alliance Airport, Fort Worth, Tx. for annual safety refresher courses.

Through the week , Toler will remain in Fort Worth to provide helicopter charters for the NASCAR event (Dickies 500) at Texas Motor Speedway Nov. 7 and Nov. 8.
