Du Quoin's David Rose Named IHSFCA All-Stater
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Du Quoin High School senior David Rose was named to the Illinois High School Football Association (IHSFCA) Class 3A All-State team Thursday morning.
Rose and Anna-Jonesboro quarterback JR Woodward were the lone two deep south choices on the 18-player squad.
The career leader in receiving yardage (1,659 yards), touchdown catches (20)) and receptions (101) at Du Quoin, Rose also was a two-year starter in the secondary and led this year's Indian team with six interceptions. He had 77 tackles, recovered two fumbles and averaged nearly 15 yards per punt return as a senior.
At wideout, Rose's (6'1, 185) 2009 campaign included 35 catches for 565 yards six touchdowns and a PAT's. He rushed for another touchdown and ended with 44 points, second on the squad only behind classmate David Gaytan.
A stellar all-around athlete, Rose is playing his third year of varsity basketball this upcoming season and has twice earned All-State honors in track.
