All-SIRR Football: Du Quoin has six unanimous all-league gridders
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Thirteen Perry County athletes were selected to the River-to-River Conference's All-Mississippi Division first team all-league squad.
Selected by the league's coaches, the list included nine members of division champion Du Quoin: Running back David Gayton, wide receiver David Rose, tight end Brandon Williams, tackle Jonathon Tennyson, center Alex Heape, linebacker Evon Stolhans, defensive back Jamor Reed, defensive tackle Bryce Hamburger and kicker Cayle Diggins.
Thomas Medina (punter), defensive end Michael Rakers, linebacker Dylan Hagene and "defensive at-large" selection Bryant Shute from Pinckneyville were also named first team.
The second offensive unit had three picks from Du Quoin-Gossett (QB), Aaron Smith (RB) and Cory Campanella (G). Pinckneyville was represented by Jake Bathon (WR) and Rakers (tackle).
Defensively, Du Quoin filled five spots on the second team with Rose (S) and Clarry (CB) in the secondary. Jerel Holmes (LB), Patrick Jones (DT) and Williams (DE) were also picked.
Pinckneyville's second team choices were Bathon (CB), Tyler Rice (LB), Keegan Kellerman (DT) and Clinton Graff (DT).
Rakers was receipent of the 11th Annual Whitey Miller Award, which honors the division's top two-way lineman as voted on by the coaches.
