Junior High Roundup: Warriors Sweep at Trico
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Rebounding from a slow start, Du Quoin (Middle School) used a big second quarter to roll past Trico (Junior High School) 41-20 Tuesday night in its final game prior to the Thanksgiving break.
DMS is 6-1 overall and leads the Junior Southwestern Egyptian Conference (Jr. SWEC) with a 3-0 record.
Trailing 5-3 after one quarter, the Warriors outscored Trico 17-3 in the next period and raced to the easy victory.
Spencer Cook had 13 points and seven rebound for DMS with Dalton Bigham scoring eight. Cody Youngman and Matt Galik each had three assists.
In the seventh grade battle, Du Quoin (6-0, 3-0) kept its early season record perfect with a 43-30 win.
The Galik brothers led the way for DMS with Will scoring a game-high 12 points while adding seven rebounds. Matt had eight points, seven assists and nine steals.
AJ Smith scored eight points with Noah Campbell and Jacob Valier each netting six.
Du Quoin's teams are next in action at home Tuesday against Pinckneyville (Junior High School).
