Lady Foxes Invitational: Pinckneyville hikes record to 209
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Exploding for 28 points in the opening quarter, Pinckneyville Community High School's Girls Basketball team cruised past Galatia-Thompsonville 70-48 late Tuesday in round two of the Lady Foxes Invitational at Hamilton County.
Friday night, PCHS plays Gallatin County at 6 p.m.
"We did a really nice job of getting out and running,' Lady Panthers coach Alan Engelhardt said. "And once again, our defense got better as the game went on."
Dani Jenkel had 15 points to lead a balanced Lady Panthers attack.
Emily Miller added 14 points, Mo Ramsey 12 and Maddy Keith 10 more.
PCHS was ahead 48-17 by halftime.
"We did a nice job of spreading out our scoring with four girls in double figures," Engelhardt said. "We did show improvement."
