Volleyball All-SICA: Two local netters earn All-South honors

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Two Perry County volleyballers were recently named to the Southern Illinois Coaches Association (SICA) All-South team for Class 2A.

A total of 24 players made the list, led by the deep south's player of the year and SIU-C signee Jessica Whitehead of Murphysboro.

Du Quoin freshman middle hitter was named after a rookie campaign that was highlighted by her selection to the All-SIRR, Mississippi Division team.

Maddox was all-tournament at Marion's Invitational and ended the season with 219 kills and 65 block points.

Pinckneyville junior outside hitter Maddy Keith was also All-SIRR and earned all-tourney honors at Benton. She rated at a 94% serving rate and was good on nearly 30% of her kills.

In Class 1A, two Trico Lady Pioneers-Mikayla Reid and Kaitlyn Phoenix-were named.
