Junior High Roundup: Lady Warriors Return from Break, Win Easily

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[In its first action since adjourning for the long holiday break 20 days ago, Du Quoin (Middle School) returned to the court and posted a 26-14 girls basketball win over Chester (Junior High School) Monday night.

The Lady Warriors, 6-15, are 2-8 in Junior Southwestern Egyptian Conference (Jr. SWEC) play and challenge Pinckneyville (Junior High Schoo) Thursday.

Three of the six DMS wins this season have came at Chester's expense.

Katrina Whitley had nine points for the Lady Warriors with Bailie Caldwell adding five. Hailey Stewart and Abby Myers each netted four.

Morgan Dennis and Amanda Atteberry contributed field goals as DMS opened a 14-5 halftime lead.

In the seventh grade game, Du Quoin (13-4, 8-2) continued its winning ways with a 21-16 victory.

Jacqueline Harsy had 11 points.
