In control from the opening tip-off, the Lady Panthers ripped visting Murphysboro 69-39 in Thomas Memorial Gymnasium, improving their record to 13-5.

Monday night, PCHS visits Carterville.

"This was a really good team win with nine of the 10 girls who played getting into the scoring column," Lady Panther coach Alan Engelhardt said. "It was really nice to see several girls look for offense tonight. We really attacked the rim well."

Cheyenne Conner and Emily Miller shared scoring honors for PCHS, each netting 15 points. Conner had three early three-points as the Lady Panthers raced to a 31-11 lead by intermission.

Two more early threes-both from Lindsay Winter-delivered early daggers to the Lady Red Devils.

Taylor Cicardi scored 12 points, Winter added eight and Mo Ramsey six to fill out a balanced Pinckneyville scoring chart.

Freshmen Heather McDaniel and Haley Simpson provided valuable minutes off the bench as Miller and Katrina Henson battled flu-like symptoms.

"it was really nice to see the freshmen step up for us as we were really shorthanded tonight," Engelhardt said.
