First Baby of New Year Born Jan. 8

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Congratulations to Christina Henson and Brian Kelm, parents of the first baby of the new year born to Perry County parents. Newell Dickey Henson was born January 8, 2010 at 5:22 a.m. in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. He weighed only 4 pounds, 15 1/2 ounces and was 17 1/2 inches long. He joins three sisters, Hailey, Liberty and Summer. Her grandparents are Tom and Kathy Henson of Du Quoin. The Du Quoin Evening Call extends its appreciation to Thill's Florist, Judy & Company, Perry County Marketplace and Two Raggedy Sisters for providing gifts to the newborn and the parents.
