Gloria D. Zimmer

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Gloria D. Zimmer, 87, of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 at the Hospitality Nursing and Rehab at Kenosha, Wis.

Gloria had worked as Activity Director at Fairview Nursing Center in Du Quoin for 10 years. She was a member of the Nine Mile Baptist Church in Tamaroa.

She was born Feb. 22, 1922 at Du Quoin, Ill., the daughter of William and Maude (Queen) Morgenthaler.

She married Ward Zimmer on June 21, 1941 at Fredericktown, Mo. and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1991.

She is survived by one son - Bill Zimmer and wife Vida of Kenosha, Wis., two grandchildren - Wayne Scott Zimmer and Mary Peyer and husband Dean, all of Kenosha, Wis., and one great grandchild - Jonathan Michael Zimmer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother - Clyde Morgenthaler.

Graveside services were at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Feb. 1, 2010 at the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin. Those attending the service were asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin was in charge of arrangements.
