Edward P. Bejma

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Edward P. Bejma, 91, of Du Bois, passed away at 7:18 p.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the St. Louis University Hospital at St. Louis, Mo.

Edward was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois. He was also a member of the Du Bois Knights of Columbus and a former member of the Pinckneyville Eagles.

He was born Oct. 8, 1918 at Du Bois, Ill., the son of Stanislaw and Agnes (Dubala) Bejma.

He married Helen Marie Layton on Sept. 25, 1954 at St. Peters Cathedral in Belleville, Ill. and she preceded him in death on Oct. 9, 1976.

He is survived by four children - Beverly Nehrkorn and husband David, Brian Bejma and wife Cynthia, Becky Wisneski and husband Mike and Roni Kerry and husband Gary, all of Du Bois; special friend - Wainomia Bird; one sister - Francis Bartnicki of Nashville; seven grandchildren - Christine Smith and husband Jacob, Jennifer Nehrkorn and fiance David Kellerman Jr., Kevin Nehrkorn, Karen Nehrkorn, Brian Bejma, Jr., Brandi Bejma, and Josh Wisneski and one great granddaughter - Lexi Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers - Leo and Ignatz, and two sisters - Helen Prusacki and Katherine Roznowski.

Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:00 a.m., Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois with Fr. Oliver Nwachukwu and Fr. James VanOss officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Rosary was prayed at 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Burial was in the St. Charles Cemetery at Du Bois, Ill.

Friends may make memorials to the St. Charles Catholic Church or the St. Charles Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
