Mary Catherine Malinski
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary Catherine Malinski, age 99 of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at 6:25 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, Ill.
Catherine was born on Dec. 11, 1910 in Du Quoin, Ill., a daughter to Jacob J. and Catherine (Kellerman) Seibert. On Sept. 12, 1933, she married Roman Richard "Ray" Malinski in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Du Quoin, Ill. and he preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2001.
She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill., the Quilting Ladies of St. Bruno and the Busy Bee Quilters. She enjoyed volunteering at the church picnic for many years. Catherine enjoyed gardening and canning and made the best apple butter in the world. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Catherine is survived by six children, John (Judy) Malinski of Pinckneyville, Ill., Bill (Loretta) Malinski of Kent, Wash., Thomas (LaVerna) Malinski of Pinckneyville, Ill., Mary Ann (Joseph) Mann, Pinckneyville, Ill., Sue (Mike) Dalman of Tamaroa, Ill. and Steven Joseph (Karen) Malinski of Pinckneyville, Ill.; 21 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob Siebert and Catherine Seibert Byer; husband,; a daughter, Jane Duckworth; a son-in-law, Bob Duckworth; a brother, John Seibert; two sisters, Anna Marlow and Rose Poiter; a great-grandson, Jason Kesler and two grandsons-in-law, Jeffery Shelton and Joseph Reichert
Funeral services were held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Monday, Feb. 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Brian Barker officiating. Interment was in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.
Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The rosary was recited at 9:00 a.m.
Memorials may be made to St. Bruno Catholic School or St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery.
