Billy L. Burgoon

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Billy L. Burgoon, age 80, of Mulkeytown Ill., passed away Monday, March 1, 2010 at his home.

He was a farmer and a member of St. John's United Methodist Church of Christ. He was born May 10, 1929 in Du Quoin, a son to Cecil P. and Emma M. (Schmidt) Bugoon. He married Geraldine Burgoon.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, having attainted the rank of Sergeant.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife

Surviving are his children, Willy Burgoon of Murphysboro Ill. and Laura DePew of Waltonville; grandchildren: Adam DePew, Brandon DePew, Megan Goosetree, Ashlynn DePew and Molly Goosetree.

Family graveside service was held Thursday, March 4 at 11:00 a.m. at IOOF cemetery in Du Quoin Ill.

Gilbert Funeral Home of Christopher Ill. was in charge of arrangements.
