Martin Morris

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Martin "Martie" Morris, 82, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:22 P.M., Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Martie lived at Five Star for several years. Martie was a very special person. He knew everyone in Sunfield and everyone knew Martie. He loved to hit a baseball and have the kids chase after it. Martie loved to get presents and always looked forward to his birthday. For many years he and his mother would walk from Sunfield to Du Quoin to visit family. Martie loved to wear dress clothes and go for a car ride. Martie had a special place in the heart everyone who knew him.

He was born Aug. 7, 1927 at Sunfield, Ill. the son of William and Elizabeth (Norris) Morris.

Martie attended the Sunfield Baptist Church most of his life. In later years he attended the Second Baptist Church in Du Quoin with his brother Carl.

He is survived by a sister- Fern Waidzulis of Du Quoin, nieces and nephews- Nancy Bufford, Allen Fisher, Janet Fisher and John Morris all of Du Quoin, Johnnie Morris of Mississippi, Sheila Reppenhagen of Georgia, Carla Morris, Brenda Housten, Donna Munson, Frani Rychlowski, Frank Waidzulis, all of the Chicago area, several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister- Mary Fisher, two brothers- Johnnie Morris and Carl Morris, nieces- Linda Hutchings, nephew- Carl Edward Morris.

Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Fred Bishop officiating.

Friends called from 11 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Primitive Baptist Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Five Star Awards Banquet Fund or the Primitive Baptist Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
