Amanda Lynn Showalter

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Amanda Lynn Showalter, 36, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:10 a.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

Amanda was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin.

She was born Feb. 19, 1974 at Belleville, Ill., the daughter of Don and Sandy (Humphress) Kincannon.

She married Gordon A. Showalter on April 25, 2000 at Paducah, Ky. and he survives.

She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin, one son - Nolan Gary Showalter of Du Quoin, her mother - Sandy Barr of Pinckneyville, three brothers - Donald C. Kincannon and wife Tammy of Pinckneyville, Ricky Kincannon of Florida, and Mark Barr and wife Shelly of Pinckneyville, three sisters - Micalean Barr of Pinckneyville, Tammy Kincannon Rodrigez of Caseyville, and Brenda Hagene and husband Kenny of Pinckneyville, grandmother - Wanita Kiss of Pinckneyville, grandfather - Wally Humphress of Pinckneyville, father-in-law and mother-in-law - Gene and Marianne Showalter of Du Quoin, brother-in-law - Greg Showalter and wife Ruth of Du Quoin, sisters-in-law -Debbie Hill and husband Cha, and Jenylle Showalter all of Du Quoin, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her fathers - Don Kincannon and Bill Barr, one nephew - Joey Hagene, grandmother - Mary Humphress, and brother-in-law - Gary Showalter.

Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Michael Ebersohl officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday.

Burial was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery at Pinckneyville.

Friends may make memorials to the College Fund for Nolan Showalter and will be accepted at the funeral home.
