</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Danny Lee Schilling, 60, of Evansville, IL,died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at his home in Evansville, IL.
He was born to Leo and Mary (nee Utzler) Schilling on December 12, 1949 in St. Louis, MO.
On September 13, 1974, he was married to Nancy J. Abell at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Evansville, Illinois; she survives.
Danny had been a Guard at Chester Mental Health Center until his retirement.
He was a member and Senior Vice Commander of the American Legion Post #1172 in Evansville, Randolph County Marine Corp, and was elected as Village Trustee Village of Evansville - 2008 to 2011.
He was a Marine Corp veteran during the Vietnam Conflict.
Survivors include his wife Nancy Schilling of Evansville, IL; mother, Mary Schilling of Evansville, IL; one daughter, Roxanne (Jason) Mines of Sparta, IL; one son, Ryan (Jenna) Schilling of Evansville, IL; three grandchildren-Olivia Schilling of Evansville, IL, and Broderick & Carter Mines of Sparta, IL; four brothers-David (Roberta) Schilling of Red Bud, IL, Dennis (Donna) Schilling of Taylorville, IL, Donald (friend Jenice) Schilling of Evansville, IL, and Dale (Kathy) Schilling of Evansville, IL; two sisters-Donna (Ronald) Schenk of Evansville, IL and Darlene (Randy) Hartman of Evansville, IL; mother-in-law, Margaret Abell of Evansville, IL; brothers & sisters-in-law: Debbie (Don) Birke of Red Bud, IL, Cindy (Dennis) Galle of Marissa, IL, Lucy (Jim) Vasquez of Lenzberg, IL, Linda (Mike) Lesperance of Sparta, IL, and Terry Abell of Milton, PA; 31 nieces & nephews and 29 great nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his father - Leo Schilling; father-in-law - William Abell; brother-in-law - Keith Long; nephews and nieces - Michael Schilling, Laura Schilling, Jesse Schilling and Louis Galle.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 am. on Thursday March 18, 2010 at the American Legion (upstairs), Evansville, IL. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home, Evansville, IL. It was Danny's wishes to be cremated. Private interment will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the Randolph County Marine Corp - Toys for Tots, Village of Evansville Park Fund, or the American Legion & Auxiliary Post #1172 Scholarship Fund.
