Richard Allen Sexton, 42

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Richard Allen Sexton, 42, went to be with his Lord on Friday, March 12, 2010, at his home in Herrin, IL.

He was born May 29, 1967, in St. Louis, MO, but spent most of his life in Herrin.

Richard loved life and had many friends; he never met a stranger. He had a passion for motorcycles and NASCAR races. He worked construction, and in his younger years, he was a certified nurse's aide and loved the elderly.

Survivors include his daughter, Leslie Ann Sexton, whom he called his baby girl; mother and step-father, Linda and Bill Gray of Chester, IL; grandson, Chase; sister, Rachette and Joe Fiorenzi; brother, Donny and Destiny Ogden; sister, Rhonda and Chris Jones; sister, Debbie and Alan Stilley; step-brother, Mark Sexton; step-sisters, Robin and Jeanne Sexton; step-brothers, Tommy and Kelly Gray; adopted father for nine years, Richard and Wanda Simmons; stepmom "memaw" Lynn Frasier; special cousin, Denny Delaney; aunt and uncle, Mary Jane and Ken Cooper; aunt and uncle, Sharon and Don Gaddis; aunt and uncle, Connie and Dale Conley; aunt and uncle, Karen and Danny Verga; great-aunt, Katie Neilson; great-uncle, Corky Hopper; aunt, Charlotte Verga; his daughter's mother and special friend, Chris Sexton; special friends-Steve, John, and Joe; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Sexton; his daughter, Kristy Lee Sexton; grandparents, Anita and Charlie Verga; grandparents, Eva and William Sexton; and special uncle, Lester Neilson.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 16, 2010, in Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin, IL, with the Rev. Lee Wallace of Zeigler officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Church Cemetery in Marion, IL.
