The Lady Falcons-who were scheduled to visit Egyptian Monday-defeated Tuscola before losing to host Benton.
"Against Benton we struck out way too many times (12) and didn't put the ball in play nearly enough," Lady Falcons coach Donette Wheatley said. "Beating Tuscola in the first game was a great way to start the season."
Freshman Corrine Wilson allowed two runs in the first inning and then threw shutout ball the rest of the way against Tuscola. She struck out three and walked two while also going 3-for-4 at the plate.
Kelsey Tuthill was 3-for-4 with a single, double, home run and two RBI.
Sami Hicks scored three times, doubled, tripled and knocked in two runs with Courtney Morse adding two hits.
Tuthill (0-1) was the loser in game two. She doubled in both Elverado runs. Rachel Hunziker was 3-for-3 at the plate.
