Board approves resolution authorizing the dismissal of full time education support personnel
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Board of Education of Chester Community Unit School District No. 139 met in the Chester School District Unit Office on March 18, 2010. President Beers called the special meeting to order at 6 p.m.
Following the special meeting President Beers called the regular meeting to order at 7 p.m.
Ms. Keim presented the Board information on FY 10 and FY 11 Financial Projections.
The Board approved the minutes for the regular meeting and executive session of February 18, 2010 and executive session minutes for February 24, 2010.
Rich Clasen updated the Board on the Technology Department.
Scott Bert updated the Board on the Maintenance Department.
Mr. Coffey updated the Board on the Athletic Department.
Mr. Kittell, High School Principal, reported to the Board of Education:
American Legion Auxiliary Essay Contest winners: 1st Mollie Laramore, 2nd Rebecca Young, and 3rd Rachel Sheely.
WYSE Team competed at the sectionals on March 11th.
Teen Conference was held on February 24th.
Mr. Lochhead, Grade School Principal, reported to the Board of Education:
Pre-K Family Fun Night was February 23rd.
March 2-12 was ISAT Testing.
Volleyball Regional was March 17th.

Information on FY 10 and FY 11 Financial Projects was presented to the Board.
The Board approved the district bills in the amount of $912,624.17 and district payroll in the amount of $418,682.39 as presented.
The Board approved the Facility Use Form for St. John Lutheran School.

The Board approved the employment of Scott Haxton, Physics Teacher for the 2010-2011 school year.
The Board approved resignation of Kristy Phillips, GS Cafeteria Aide effective March 11, 2010.
The Board approved the resignation of Elizabeth Wingerter, paraprofessional effective April 30, 2010.
The Board approved the resignation of Michele Cross, Speech Teacher, effective at the end of the 2009-2010 school year.
The Board approved the resignation of Christine Kaiping, Assistant Varsity Softball Coach.
The Board approved the intent to retire from Lisa Mitchell, GS Teacher, at the end of the 2013-2014 school year.
The Board approved the intent to retire from Rebecca Keim, Superintendent, effective June 30, 2011.
The Board approved the intent to retire from Kristen Burger, GS Secretary, effective June 30, 2015.
The Board approved the intent to retire from Lynn Kerkhover, GS paraprofessional, effective at the end of the 2014-2015 school year.

The Board approved the resolution authorizing the dismissal of full time education support personnel: Sonya Alms, Bette Conley, Ginger Cowan, Tammy Grah, Layla Kaspar, Lynn Kerkhover, Melissa Knop, Jenny Krantz, Cookie Rathert, Marla Rockwell, Tammy Surman, Tracy Woods, Allison Blechle, Annette Draves, Charnelle Lilley, and Martha Walker.
The Board approved the Official School Calendar for the 2010-2011 school year.
The Board entered into executive session at 8:15 p.m. to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body.
The Board returned to open session at 9:06 p.m.
The Board adjourned at 9:06 p.m.
